Children's Ministry Purpose

The Children’s Ministry at Bethel Baptist Church is committed to supporting parents in their role as spiritual leaders in bringing up their children in the fear and admonition of the Lord.  Our desire is to demonstrate God’s love by example and through the teaching of His Word.  This provides a spiritual foundation that will help children understand who God is, how to follow Him and lead others to Him.

Children’s ministry is for ages 0 yrs-6th grade.
In everything we do our focus is on the following:
  • We want the children to understand the Bible is unchanging truth from which all we do is based. We teach that God’s word is always true.
  • We want to teach the gospel to our children - understanding sin and its consequences, and to help them grow in their understanding of their need for a savior. These are the building blocks upon which our ministry is based.
  • We want to build relationships with them to build on the strengths we notice in them and draw out where they are in their understanding of the gospel and teach them to love God and his word.
  • We feel that it is important to attract and hold the child’s attention, so the message taught will remain with the child.
  • Our teachers prepare diligently so that they can share the love of Jesus with the kids and to be an example of godly love and compassion. They have hearts that want to love, protect, and nurture children.
  • We take safety and security seriously, our children’s ministry volunteers have background checks, gone through our ministry manual and training.

Bethel Nursery

Bethel Baptist Church is happy to provide a nursery for children 0-3 years (8:30am service) and 0-2 years (10:00am service). Please be assured your babies and toddlers will be well-loved and a joy to watch. The nursery workers consider the nursery a blessing and desire to minister to the parents of young children by serving them by offering a nursery so parent can focus on the sermon each week.   Bethel Baptist also supports parents choosing to keep their children during the worship service.
